I’m Madison Rally—photographer, broadcaster, designer, and lifelong creative based in southeast Michigan.
I’ve spent most of my career somewhere between a microphone and a camera. I started working in radio as a teenager, earned a Studio Art degree from Michigan State University, and have spent the years since working across photography, design, radio, television, promotions, and events.
These days, you’ll usually find me on the morning show at 102.9 W4 Country or behind a camera making people look like themselves on a very good day.
Portrait photography has always been the work I come back to.
I’m drawn to photographs that feel candid, editorial, a little imperfect, and completely personal—less “everyone look at the camera and smile,” more movement, connection, personality, and the details you’ll actually want to remember.
I photograph families, couples, seniors, women, besties, and anyone who wants photographs that feel more like them than a traditional portrait session.
But there’s another reason I care so much about portraits, especially of women…
Women are so often the ones documenting everyone else.
We take the pictures. We remember the birthdays, the vacations, the ordinary afternoons. We make sure our kids have photographs with their dads, grandparents, friends, and everyone they love.
And somehow, years later, there are remarkably few photographs proving we were there too.
I know that firsthand.
I have countless photographs from my childhood. Plenty with my dad. Plenty with family and friends. But photographs with my mom—the person who was usually behind the camera—are much harder to find.
Add to that how many women avoid the camera because they don’t feel comfortable being photographed, and it becomes really easy to disappear from your own family history.
I want to change that.
Whether I’m photographing a mother with her children, a group of girlfriends, a senior, a couple, or a woman simply because she deserves beautiful photographs of herself, my goal is the same:
Make sure women exist in the photographs.
Not someday when you lose the weight, find the right outfit, feel less awkward, or finally have a “reason” to book the session.
Now. As you are. In the life you’re actually living.
Families. Women. Seniors. Couples. Friends. Milestones. Ordinary life worth remembering.
My approach is relaxed, personality-driven, and a little more editorial than traditional. I’ll guide you when you need it, but I’m always looking for the in-between moments, too. The laugh after the pose, the kid clinging to your leg, the glance that happens when nobody thinks I’m shooting.
The goal is never perfection.
The goal is something that feels real.
Outside of photography, I work in radio and media, create content, collaborate with brands, and occasionally turn whatever creative idea is occupying my brain into a project.
That mix of photography, storytelling, design, and media is pretty much how my brain has always worked anyway.
