you can call this an artist's work in progress.
i would attempt to summarize the reason behind this little project, but the names and faces would all have to be changed to protect the innocent, so i may as well just keep it vague (for now). don't worry, the 'why' isn't really an important part of the final result, anyway.
a few months back, i had a need to create something. i was in a mood. i had the need to give myself (and the (now ex) husband) a pep talk. i needed confidence, i needed attitude, and i (we) needed motivation. i was angry and determined. i needed to tell the world the universe was not going to win. it was a battle of big vs. small, and we were going to come out on top.
in a fit of sass, this 'magazine cover' was born. i needed to get it out so quickly there was no time for an actual photoshoot with a sassy lady, so i grabbed a stock photo from my stash and added this quote.
long story short, the universe listened and stars aligned for us that day. sometimes you just need to throw it out there, throw your hands up to God, and pray it all works out. it was a big win for us at that time. big.
i also got a really amazing response from friends and family about my little piece of artwork/motivational meme, or whatever you want to call this graphic. so much so, that i decided this would be an on-going project. i love the idea of creating motivational pieces in the form of a magazine cover. i haven't had the time to proceed yet, but i imagine this to be a series. ideally i'll take the photo, and maybe each one tells the story of the person on the cover with the added text.
let me know if you have ideas, if you want to be on one of my covers, and stay tuned for more.
